Reliability and Maintenance Analysis
The Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) Study allow to:
- asses the availability/production availability of the system under analysis, according to project specification;
- identify the key contributors to unavailability and their relative contribution (breakdown of system/equipment/criticality);
- provide a detailed analysis of unavailability contributes, adequately performed (e.g. by equipment/unit);
- provide cost effective recommendations to improve the availability of the facilities.
The approach adopted in evaluating RAM Study is based on the Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) method. The RBD is defined by representing production critical equipment in a network to achieve continuous system operation.
The RBD includes Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) for each production critical equipment or item in the overall system.
